According to the Thematic Strategy for Soil Protection, the LIFE+ ENV/IT/00428 SOILPRO project (http://www.soilpro.eu) has the overall objective of slowing down the progress of soil degradation in EU Member States, and supporting local and regional authorities (LRAs) in the identification and monitoring of risk areas. The monitoring of the on-going soil degradation processes and the evaluation of different protection measures are realized through a web-based application (SMS – Soil Monitoring System), developed according to data and knowledge obtained from the different project partners. HiGeoMes: Distributed Geodatabases in an archaeological joint research project

International audience; The project 'HiGeoMes' seeks to connect knowledge about archaeological sites in the Near East with place names in ancient sources of the 2nd millennium BC. The paper describes the digital approach to integrate textual and geographical information by emphasizing the impact of interfaces linking diverse datasets. Several OGC-based Web services provide reviewed archaeological information in a Web GIS with query capabilities. Place-related philological data are stored in an OWL-store to model the topological relations of unidentified sites. Nell'ambito dei rilievi dei beni culturali è opportuno ed utile trovare sistemi alternativi ed innovativi per il rilievo, la catalogazione e la fruizione virtuale, la riproduzione materica dei modelli generati. Technologies to acquire and monitor changes in the product shelf life were described.Four different SL predictive models were considered.A simulated transport using a prototype of Smart Logistic Unit was analysed.Real time shelf life prediction system was implemented in a webGIS platform.
